Candy Candy is the generation of manga from the 70th, typical girls manga followed the influence of Jean Eyer.

Little Candy grew up in a orphanage, and was adopted by the rich family to be the servant of their spoiled daughter and son. The rich daughter's beloved boy Antoni somehow was in love with Candy, also got her into trouble.... Candy's life was mostly tragedy. Good men involved in her life were either dead, forced to leave her, or lost memory. Evil adopted-grandmother from the rich family is like a shadow, haunting and blaming her endlessly. After a few relationships, by the end of the story, Candy is still alone. However, the story is about her strength to move on, and the courage to love and to believe. I still believe it is one of the best manga I've read ever!
