The complete tutorial of how to draw manga - Step 4

Supplies Required:
Drawing paper, pencil and eraser.
A Speedball kit including black acrylic ink and palettes (better come with a variety of sizes).
A small round watercolor brush (for coloring large black areas).

Now, you have your pages all planned out, and it is time to transfer them into real drawings on paper. The steps are simple: draw the image with pencil – add ink to the outline – clean up the pencil mark.

A few important points here:

First
. Use a medium-weight paper with a smooth surface. I personally do not recommend printer paper. Such paper is too light, and the surface can be ruined easily with too much erasing. And the ruined surface will cause the ink to bleed, especially the water-based inks.

Second. Use a dust-free eraser. It is more paper surface friendly and less messy.

Third. You might like the pencil marks too much and thinking, gee, how about I skip the inks? My answer is definitely Not if you wish your manga to get published one day. The pencil marks are too light for book printing, and for most publishers, ink finishing is absolutely required.
