Manga studio EX 4 just came out (which sucks because I'm 10 days away from the free upgrade deadline from EX3 that I just got T_T) and that will work with vista. The new one also added a whole bunch of color options and the works.
Are you a student? If so, you can get it at http://www.academicsuperstore.com for $99 instead of $300. You just have to prove your eligibility for it. 8-)

No prob, when you check out they will send you a message via email and you will need to send them a picture and report card. If you go now you can even get the ENTIRE CS 4 for $650 instead of $1,800 (though I still can't afford it lol and I'm not sure how long it lasts).
Enjoy.

davismw2000 wrote:Also you will need tone screens. These are self-adhesive sheets that come in varies shades of grey. Because most manga is done in black and white shaded areas are often done with halftone sheets. You just need to place the sheet over the area needing shade then with an hobby knife CAREFULLY trim and peel away anything not shaded. This will give your manga art that professinal finish. You can purchase these sheets at any art supply store.

plz if u wanna give hints , make ur own...

Uhm, I have a question about pens that mangakas use.....I have a crow quill pen, but I'm trying to look for a G-pen somewhere......they're the ones that you dip in ink and then draw with, and I can't find them in Canada...but I am going to Buffalo soon....is there anywhere that someone knows if I can get one...? ...And for cheap? ^^" I'm only 12, I don't have much moolah as of yet.

mmm.... i think is better not to worry about what kind of pens you use. just use waht ever works for you. some of the manga artist friends i had back in japan really didn't care. and i don't really care what i use eather. my fiance even uses vic incpen that you can buy in a dollar stor and gets great effects out of it. so i'll say it really dosen't matter.
well, heres what i use for example.......
sakura marker called micron. i have 0.3 and 0.5 for different thickness.
regular sharpies magic marker for big black area..............and well thats about it.
g- pens are good once you get use to it but i find it hard to use. made a lot of mess and don't dry fast enough....

I really like the Sakura Micron series but somehow I've misplaced a couple of mine and need to get some more :(. Pencil-wise, I use a Pentel 0.5 Mechanical pencil. It costs about $4-5 and works really well. Then I use a mechanical eraser and kneaded eraser.
