For the last two years, I've been working on my own graphic novel series, RyuFox Legends! There are two installments so far (Volume 1, which contains Episodes 1-4, and Episode 5, which is self-contained), and at present, I'm working on the third book in the series, Episode 6, unless somehow I get finished with things I need to do before rerelasing the whole first book as four smaller books.
Anyway, the story takes place nearly 5000 years after the Apocalypse (which was in AD5000 by the story's logic) and takes place on a new, much larger planet in a star system trillions of light years away from the original Earth. Humans and anthropes (anthropomorphic animals) have since learned to coexist and have adapted to their new settings. It's around this time that science has also made some significant headway, as we have come into the very power that both the realms of Heaven and Hell use to power the universe: Alchemy. And with the power of alchemy comes the desire to create life, the homunculus.
One of the homunculi created, Carlton Whitedragon, a human-form homunculus, was given the order to destroy the new Earth. When that failed in ADNE4502, he was banished to Hell until he was able to successfully overthrow and "kill" the Demon King Lucifer. The story then starts in ADNE4542, where Carlton is in a match with his nephew, an anthrope-form half-homunculus named Okami Greywolf, Jr. Junior is protecting the RyuFox Stones, 13 magical stones created around the time the new Earth was first populated. Carlton wants them in order to bring his new goal full-circle: the destruction of the entire universe.
The Stones, being able to react to the will of an individual's heart, fly off in various directions in space and disappear, traveling through time. Carlton retreats to Hell to locate the RyuFox Stones but not without incapacitating Junior first.
While in a coma, Junior learns from his aunt and Carlton's sister, an angel named Caitlyn Whitedragon, that the RyuFox Stones have traveled 10 tears into the past, to ADNE4532 and that there is already someone chosen to help him find the Stones: a 17-year-old named Elliott Alexander. Junior awakens from his comatose state in a huff, intent on finding the RyuFox Stones his own way, though with one last bit of help from Caitlyn, he escapes through a wormhole taking him into the past.
Cue Episode 1 where the story starts to take on a much lighter and satirical tone as a counterbalance to the story's dark nature. From that episode onward, the story shifts focus to its main protagonist Elliott, and his friends and allies, who all band together to stop Carlton's plot, while having a lot of fun along the way.
With that out of the way, here are the first 20 pages from Episode 6.
