Getting manga drawing supplies is even harder!!!

Hobby Lobby has a whole line of ink and toner pens just for anime and manga drawings. Hobby Lobby has just about anything you could ever need, want, or think about maybe needing it. LoL!

Well if your not a die-hard about becoming a manga-ka there is always storyboarding for companies. Anime style cartoons are slowly taking over. Final Art, Concept, Full Range...There is a long list of jobs.

The bottom line is getting in the door. If you can get your name out there. It is hard work but can be done. If nothing else it can also be people you know once you get there.

Take the opportunity if it persents itself...I am an idiot for not taking up a Disney Scholarship when I had the chance back when I was 17.

Would you mind giving a link to this hobby lobby page?
i cant seem to find it. leads to some kinda toy store or whatever when i google it...

I would like to become a Manga-ka, but im not that good....(or so my sister says)
I let her see some of my attempts sometimes, but it always has somethin wrong with it. But one day i do hope to become one even if it is for a little while!
Ive gotta start getting stuff to draw with like pens and inks and all that other stuff. But will i ever find a job as a manga-ka? I dont know any from here and all the manga-ka peoples i know are all far away...

yeah, becoming a manga-ka is nearly impossible in the U.S.

there is only one real good way in my opinion and that is to break into the industry through webcomics. im sure some of u have read Megatokyo or dramacon. megatokyo was one of the first successful anime styled webcomics. every mon, wed, fri, it updated a new page and it grew so popular that a publisher (think it was Dark Horse) picked it up. Dramacon on the other hand was published after its artist was picked up for her work on her website and what she sold at cons.

while not as demanding as a japanese manga-ka's job, i believe both authors make a living off their work.

and even if u dont get published, having a webcomic would be a very rewarding hobby.
