Something about the Number of View for the Artworks

Postby DoodleArtist on Thu Jan 08, 2009 9:45 pm

I don't know whether some of you have noticed that, the numbers of view in the gallery is actually inaccurate.

I was looking at some new posted artworks using work computer during lunch break today, later on I got back to the site using my home PC, the number of view of those artworks I clicked did not change. I mean, before I clicked, they got 5 view, and after I clicked, still 5 view, weird!!!! It means when I clicked on them, the view was not registered!

What has caused this problem??? maybe some network don't allow registering the clicks??? I know lots of companies have firewall on their network so employees cannot do crazy things online like they do at home, it might be the case. I don't know. :?:

Anyway, the point I have here: don't trust the number showing underneath your artworks, the number of view does not equal to the popularity of your artworks. you might just had 20 people viewing your work in the past hour or two, but only 5 counts got registered...

Most views are not counted unless you are logged in. This is basically to prevent people spamming to get high numbers.

I'll look at adding in how many guests have viewed an image... so you'll see on your own work something like:
Code: Select all
21 views (+50 guests)
